My Story

A U.S. citizen since 1957, Moss Wall artist Terese DeMott was born in London, England, and was raised and educated in Northern Virginia. After raising their two sons, she now lives with her husband, Jim, and her golden retriever, Beaumont. She began a ladies group in her local neighborhood, giving these women the opportunity to come together to relax, share and enjoy the peace and tranquility of their time spent together in her home, whilst sipping a glass of vino. She enjoys taking walks with her dog on the trails in the woodlands of rustic Virginia, which serve as the primary source of her inspiration.

Working with her love of nature, Terese creates all of the moss pieces herself, with visions from her walks which she takes home to her studio, to design. Like many artists, her love for the outdoor finds her taking a walk in the woods, observing the moss on the rocks, the unique shapes that twigs have taken and capturing photographs of all that Mother Nature has to offer. This is how her story began and is now creating in her studio in her home. Her attention to detail attributes to the many different pieces she creates. Terese so enjoys the people she meets through her art.
